These are just a couple of sites that are out there whose sole
purpose is to expose internet hoaxes. This is not to endorse
everything that these sites posts, only to say that we should be
very careful before we believe and subsequently pass out emails that
are written from a friend of a friend of a friend. Once
an I. T. (Internet Technology) person explained to me that email
hoaxes are sent out for several reasons here are two of those
reasons:
To clog up the internet. This can potentially cause
mainframes to jam up. If everyone who has an email address
sends out a mass mailing of these so called real stories to warn
their loved ones about the alleged dangers these emails
purportedly expose than major havoc could occur with the net
itself. Anarchist-types are the ones who like to do these
things.
To pass along a virus. The rule of thumb here is
that if you do not know who sent you the email or recognize the
sender's name, throw it away BEFORE it's opened. This same
I. T. person explained to me that some viruses are actually good
because they expose the weakness of a particular software which
forces the company to repair it. However, some viruses are
simply to expose the evil nature of people. In any event
just don't open any emails that you do not recognize the name.
I like Google. It's simple while having a lot to offer.
Besides they creatively change they way they write Google on certain
days.
Most of the time, I think
they are fair and balanced. Sometimes though they do bend to
what sells.
